What is Uruguay’s Data Protection Act ?

Law No. 18.331 which entered in force in 2008, and its regulatory Decree No. 414/009, established in Uruguay a general legal framework with the purpose of assuring the fundamental right to protection of personal data and privacy. The Personal Data Regulatory and Control Unit is the data protection authority in Uruguay.
