What is the SWIFT CSCF ?

The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) is a Belgian cooperative society that serves as an intermediary and executor of financial transactions between banks worldwide.  

The SWIFT Customer Security Controls Framework (CSCF) consists of mandatory and advisory security controls for SWIFT users, which establish a security baseline for the entire community. The SWIFT CSCF must be implemented by all users on their local SWIFT infrastructure. The controls evolve over time to combat new and arising threats and to implement new developments in cybersecurity. SWIFT has chosen to prioritise these mandatory controls to set a realistic goal for near-term, tangible security gains and risk reduction.
