What is Poland’s Data Protection Act ?

The Personal Data Protection Act is the Polish data protection and privacy regulation. The Act supplements the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and tailors its provisions to the particular national context. Moreover, it provides the legal basis for the structure and powers of the new supervisory body, the President of the Office for Personal Data Protection, which is an active data protection authority.

The Act protects the data privacy of individuals and as such it contains a number of provisions and requirements related to the processing of personal data of individuals. In Poland, the right to the protection of personal data is part of the national Constitution and therefore, is of fundamental value.

This solution will provide your organisation guidance on how to comply with the Act and stay compliant with this regulation. In order to also receive guidance on the GDPR, we recommend to make use of this Polish Data Protection Act solution in combination with the GDPR solution.
