What is CNPD ?
The Law on the organization of the National Data Protection Commission (CNPD) and the general data protection framework form the data protection and privacy regulation in Luxembourg. The CNPD supplements the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and tailors its provisions to the particular national context. The “Commission Nationale pour la Protection des Données” is national data protection authority in Luxembourg.
The CNPD protects the data privacy of individuals and as such it contains a number of provisions and requirements related to the processing of personal data of individuals. In Luxembourg, the right to privacy is a recognized human right and is part of the national Constitution and therefore, is of fundamental value.
