What is ISO 45001 ?

ISO 45001 is an international standard for management systems of occupational health and safety (OH&S). The standard was published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in 2018. 

ISO is an independent, non-governmental international organization with a membership of 165 national standards bodies. Through its members, it brings together experts to share knowledge and develop voluntary, consensus-based, market relevant international standards that support innovation and provide solutions to global challenges. 

ISO 45001 specifies requirements for an OH&S management system, and gives guidance for its use, to enable organizations to provide safe and healthy workplaces by preventing work-related injury and ill health, as well as by proactively improving its OH&S performance. ISO 45001 is applicable to any organization that wishes to establish, implement and maintain an OH&S management system.
