What is Argentina’s Reg 132/2018 ?

The Access to Information Agency, the government entity responsible for enforcing Argentina’s data protection law, recently issued Regulation 132/2018. It aims to establish a new mechanism for the registration of data controllers and private and public databases.

The regulation is applicable to proceedings of registration, renewal and modification, all of which shall be performed exclusively through the online platform called Distance Procedures Platform (DPP) or the Electronic Document Management. Through the DPP, companies must proceed to replace the Databases already registered, and re-register all their Databases with the DPA.
