What is UK Cyber Essentials ?

Cyber Essentials is a United Kingdom certification scheme, which is designed to demonstrate, that an organisation has a minimum level of protection in cyber security through annual assessments to maintain certification. The aim of Cyber Essentials is to protect organisations, regardless of size, against a whole range of the most common cyber attacks.  

As Cyber Essentials is backed by the UK government and overseen by the National Cyber Security Centre, it encourages organisations to adopt good practice in information security. Cyber Essentials also includes an assurance framework and a simple set of security controls to protect information from threats coming from the internet. Through the certification of Cyber Essentials, companies reassure customers and new business that they have cyber security measures in place in order to secure their IT and data. Moreover, some Government contracts require Cyber Essentials certification.
